Flying during Eid can already feel festive. But Emirates is taking it several steps further this year with special meals, desserts and entertainment lined up for passengers during Eid Al Adha. From May 26 to 29, travellers on selected routes will notice the airline leaning heavily into regional flavours and Emirati hospitality. So yes, expect a lot of saffron, dates, pistachios and baklava.

Emirates Adds Eid Menus, Arabic Films And Sweet Treats Onboard

And honestly, some of the desserts sound better than airport food has any right to be.

According to the press release, the airline has prepared different Eid menus across all cabin classes, with each one getting its own festive additions.

First Class Passengers Are Getting A Proper Eid Feast

People flying First Class will be served dishes like lamb machbous, lamb madfoon and beef cooked with Emirati spices. There’s also prawn morbian on the menu.

Desserts are going all out too. Pistachio and chocolate nammoura cake, rahash mousse cake and warm walnut baklawa cake are all part of the spread.

But Emirates hasn’t stopped at regular meal trays.

Passengers in First Class will also receive sweet treats like orange blondie and date cheesecake during the journey. Meanwhile, travellers in Business Class and Premium Economy will get orange cake with rose and pistachio flavours, plus date and walnut cake.

Even Economy Meals Are Getting An Eid Upgrade

In Economy Class, travellers can expect dishes such as chicken kabsa, lamb ouzi, daoud basha and beef sajiyeh. The desserts include pistachio cake and coffee cake.

For many passengers, especially families travelling home or heading off for Eid holidays, little festive touches like this actually matter. Flights during Eid can feel hectic. A decent meal helps.

Also, passengers flying on the Emirates A380 will find extra desserts available in the onboard lounge throughout the celebration period. Think maamoul, assorted baklava, sesame brownies and pomegranate cheesecake.

Traditional Arabic coffee and dates will also be served there as part of the Eid welcome.

Food aside, Emirates is also adding a strong Arabic entertainment lineup on its ice system.

According to details shared with Gulf News, passengers can browse up to 6,500 entertainment channels during Eid, including Arabic films, TV channels, music and podcasts.

Movies like 6 Ayyam and BAAB by Emirati director Nayla Al Khaja are part of the selection.

Emirates lounges in Jeddah and Cairo are also joining the celebrations with regional Eid dishes and desserts for travellers passing through.
