When you travel a lot using Dubai International Airport, chances are that you consider yourself to be aware of the routine, because the rules have changed.  Shoes off, laptop out. liquids in a clear bag. However, this is the twist that many travellers fail to notice: a traveller is legally allowed to carry up to 15 mobile phones in his or her luggage.

Dubai Airport New Security Rules You Should Know Before Flying

According to Gulf News, Dubai received 17.55 million visitors in 2025. As the figures keep rising rapidly, airport authorities encourage passengers to be keen on observing security regulations to avoid time wastage. Being informed about the rules prevents panic in the future.

The 15 Rules of the Mobile Phone In Simple Terms

The passengers can actually travel with a maximum of 15 mobile phones, but not including that of your personal use at Dubai Airports. One of the conditions is not negotiable; the phones need to remain in the original packaging of the manufacturer. No box? No luck. They may be confiscated by security. The regulation guards against lithium-battery fires; inappropriate packaging may burst into flames during flights and in airports. It is not about not being inconvenient; it is about the safety of scale.

Easy Security Principles That Do Matter At DXB

One of the most time-sensitive aspects of your airport experience is security screening, particularly during Eid breaks and peak seasons at the airport during summer. Experts advise following these principles:

  1. Obey security officers
  2. Avoid using metal accessories. Belt, watches, and coins delay the line.
  3. Do not carry lighters, flammable containers, or toy weapons.
  4. See family at home; overcrowded terminals do not benefit anybody.
  5. Never leave bags unattended.
  6. Do not carry bags of strangers.
  7. Carry prescriptions of medication and medical certificates of implanted devices.

The existence of these rules is explained by the fact that thousands of people can pass through the same checkpoint during an hour.

What Is Going On Backstage At DXB

Technology is working around the clock as passengers wait in lines. AI systems to forecast the crowd movement and security demand are now being used by airports. Others even simulate chaos during peak hours, even in advance.

It is also significant in next-generation CT scanners. They produce 3D images of cabin baggage in high-resolution, which assists the officers in detecting threats more efficiently. This technology may loosen the liquid and electronic regulations in the future.

At DXB, a multi-year contract was signed by Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and Smiths Detection to install high-tech CT scanners in terminals. Among the systems are the automated tray return system, smart lanes, and object recognition software.
