If you’re an Indian national in the UAE with a passport or visa appointment on your mind, here’s a heads-up worth reading before you book anything. The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has issued a fresh warning against unauthorised agents offering passport, visa and attestation services, urging the public to steer clear of anyone claiming to represent the Indian missions outside official channels.
Need A Passport Or Visa Appointment? Use The Official Portal Only
This comes right after the embassy and the Consulate General of India in Dubai officially ended their outsourcing tie-up with BLS International and SGIVS Global. Since July 1, 2026, both missions have been handling all passport, visa and attestation services directly, in-house, from their own premises.
In an advisory posted on its official social media on Friday, the embassy made it clear: BLS International and SGIVS Global are no longer authorised to provide services on its behalf or on behalf of the Consulate in Dubai.
So where should you actually book? The embassy says all appointments, including passport, visa, attestation, or otherwise, must go through the dedicated portal, book.passportindiauae.com, which the mission rolled out earlier this week to streamline the process.

Don’t Pay Anyone To Get You An Appointment
Here’s the part that matters most for your wallet: booking an appointment through the official portal is completely free. No third party has been authorised to charge you a single dirham or arrange appointments on your behalf.
The embassy has directly urged people not to pay BLS International, SGIVS Global, or any individual or agency claiming to facilitate these appointments.
Think You’ve Been Misled? Here’s What To Do
There’s also a strong word of caution for anyone who’s already been targeted. If you’ve been misled, overcharged, or fed false information by someone falsely claiming links to the Abu Dhabi embassy or Dubai consulate, you’re encouraged to report it through the missions’ official contact channels.
Bottom line: stick to book.passportindiauae.com, don’t pay middlemen, and stay alert to anyone claiming special access to Indian consular services in the UAE.
