Saudia, which is the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, and Air India have signed a codeshare agreement. Yes, travelling between India and Saudi Arabia just became a lot easier through this new agreement, with more options and smoother connections. Not to mention, it allows for easier onward travel for passengers who are flying between the two nations.

Saudia & Air India Sign Codeshare Agreement

Through the new codeshare agreement, people can fly to more Saudi cities on just a single ticket. Basically, Air India passengers who arrive in Jeddah or Riyadh will be able to seamlessly connect on Saudia-operated flights. This would be to the cities of Dammam, Abha, Gassim, Giza, Madinah, and Taif. As it happens, with the addition of the Jeddah-Riyadh codeshare, passengers get more flexibility while arriving in one city and departing from another. Additionally, it benefits both business travellers and tourists!

The Agreement Works Both Ways

As it happens, a Gulf News report also mentions how connections to select international destinations will also be added later this year. This would expand the usefulness of the partnership beyond point-to-point travel. Offering easier access to India’s major hubs, the agreement works both ways.

Not just for Indians, but Saudia passengers will also gain access to widespread of Indian cities. This would be via Mumbai and Delhi and it includes Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, and Jaipur.

15 More Destinations To Be Available Through Interline Agreement

As such, 15 additional destinations will be available through interline agreements. With options for travellers who are heading to India for business, leisure, or family visits.

With Saudia focusing on simplifying the journey, the aim is to deepen long-standing ties between the two markets. So, the next time you need to travel to India or maybe you have a friend travelling to Saudi Arabia from India, they might be able to make use of this fantastic agreement between the airlines.
