The UAE has announced that it has opened registration for Emirati citizens who are seeking to perform Hajj during the 1448AH/2027 season. Applications are being accepted from September 14th to 25th, as announced by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. Here’s what the announcement has mentioned.
Hajj Registrations Opens In The UAE
As announced in a report of the news, the registration is going to be available through the authority’s smart application. It can also be done through the official website, and it is intended for UAE Citizens who have not previously performed Hajj. They can register within the specified period of September 14th – 25th. The selection process will then be conducted through an automated system once the registration period closes.
After this, the announcement would mark the start of preparations for the next season. This would allow the pilgrims to get 12 days to submit their applications electronically. Moreover, applicants have also been advised to ensure that they complete the registration process before the deadline.
What Is Hajj?
Hajj, for those who don’t know, is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. This is a one-time required religious duty for all Muslims who can physically and financially undertake the journey and support the family during their absence at home. It is the fifth pillar of the Five Pillars of Islam and unites millions of Muslims from across the globe, who come to rinse their past sins, and it implies total submission to god.

What Does The Process Entail?
This comes after the previous month, when the UAE announced that it would be opening registration in September. The screening process is expected to be completed by October 9th. Once the names of approved pilgrims are announced. Not to mention, successful applicants will also be contacted to complete the required procedures.
It was also mentioned in the same report that strategic plans were being developed in order to ensure pilgrims get services both in the UAE and at the holiest site in Saudi Arabia. This would allow them to perform smoothly and comfortably. With the preparations for the 2027 season already underway, these are building on the efforts with a focus on enhancing the experience for the pilgrims.
