Dubai Municipality recently launched Dubai Historic Doors at the Dubai International Airport. This is in partnership with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai and Dubai Airports. Through this initiative, travellers passing through the Dubai International Airport get an immersive visual, historical, and cultural experience as they get to see historic doors that formed part of the Dubai architectural heritage.

An experience that is running until September 7th, Dubai Historic Doors brings together the richness of Dubai’s past and its future-facing identity. Welcoming visitors through an interpretation of the traditional doors, which were a characteristic of historic homes in the emirate’s markets and neighbourhoods, it is a reflection of the emirate’s message for welcoming the world. It Showcases Doors from Traditional Historic Houses
The moment travellers arrive, this experience introduces them to different elements of Dubai’s history, culture, and architectural identity. It starts from heritage doors and continues towards the passport control area. The initiative recreates traditional doors that were once an important part of the architecture and social character of historic neighbourhoods in Dubai. Yes, these include those in Al Shindagha, Al Fahidi and Deira. In fact, the recreated door of the Sheikh Saeed House has also been displayed at the arrivals of Terminal 3.
