Even on the best days, air travel may prove overwhelming. Airports become noisy, and people sensory sensitivities courses to passengers with autism or sensory sensitivities are affected by the noise. Here is where Emirates comes into the picture with its latest action of inclusivity. Emirates Airlines has introduced its Travel Rehearsal programme in Bali, which aims to give neurodiverse passengers a chance to be calm, prepared, and confident before flying.

Emirates Initiates Travel Rehearsal Programme In Bali

The programme took place at Denpasar International Airport on Feb. 18, 2026, as reported by a Travel and Tour World article, another major step in achieving Emirates vision of making flight experience inclusive to everyone.

What’s The Purpose Of Travel Rehearsal Programme By Emirates?

It is not a talk or a brief demonstration, but a complete run-through. You literally walk the airport as you would on the day of flight: check-in, security, boarding, and even baggage claim.

There were 17 participants in the rehearsal in Bali, which involved eight autistic children and their parents or guardians. Emirates crew members did not hurry anyone; they took them through every step, told them what to do next, and allowed them to enjoy the scenery at their own pace.

The concept is extraordinarily simple yet efficient: fear is reduced when one gets accustomed to it. When you are aware of what to expect, anxiety suffers a blow.

Reasons Why Bali Is Important For Inclusive Travel

Bali is not another point on the map, but a mega-tourist destination where families, individual travellers, and first-time flyers land daily. Emirates is picking Bali, which means inclusive travel is not a one-city affair.

Long-haul visits can be daunting to families who are bringing along neurodiverse children. A little journey in advance makes the unknown possible–and even thrilling.

From Dubai To The World

The programme was launched in Dubai in 2024 as Emirates began its big Accessible Travel for All initiative. Since then, it has spread into other locations such as Barcelona, Brisbane, Manila, Madrid, and Toronto. Now Bali’s on the roster.

Emirates scooped the Unique Autism Certified Airline badge in 2025, an indication of employee education, in-flight support and airport facilities tailored to neurodiverse passengers.

Powerful Local Alliances Made It Possible

The rehearsal of Bali was successful simply due to close collaborations with airport and government officials; PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, PT JAS Airport Services, immigration, customs, and local aviation authorities. That supported the experience with realism and remained safe and enabling.

It also demonstrates that inclusive travel will work when airlines, airports, and regulators join forces.

A Future Where Everybody Can Fly With Confidence

The rehearse initiative proves that accessibility does not require massive changes, but clever modifications. By preparing people before boarding, Emirates removes one of the most significant obstacles to travelling: the fear of the unknown.

To many families, this assistance makes travelling not only possible but also fun.
