1. Qatar Announces Remote Working For The Private Sector
Qatar has announced remote working for people in the private sector on Sunday, March 1st. However, those sectors where physical presence is necessary at the workplace are exempt. This exemption also extends to retail outlets and service-oriented activities that involve direct engagement with the public. Shops, restaurants, and consumer cooperatives are included in this.
2. Qatar Issues An Emergency Alert On Sunday Morning
After multiple explosions were heard in Doha, as reported by Doha News, Qatar issued an emergency alert on Sunday. Residents were instructed to remain indoors and to venture out only in case of emergency.
3. Qatar Airways Announces Flight Suspension
The flights as revealed by the airline is continuing to remain suspended. This suspension is in place as there is currently a closure of Qatari airspace. As it happens, a further update will be announced by the airline on March 2nd, 9 AM Doha time, and some passengers can monitor their flight information through the website.
4. Residential Towers Hit In Bahrain
Residential Towers were affected in Bahrain, with debris falling from the sky, which caused a fire in one of them. As confirmed by the Bahrain News Agency, there has also been a temporary change to flights at the Bahrain International Airport after the airspace closure. In fact, sirens had also been sounded, after which citizens and residents were urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place.
5. Bahrain International Airport Targetted
The Civil Aviation Affairs of Bahrain has confirmed that Bahrain International Airport was targeted by a drone attack. As a result, there was little damage that was limited to minor material losses, as confirmed by the Bahrain News Agency.
