As a result, this severe category typhoon is causing quite a bit of adverse weather conditions. As a result, Emirates flights to China’s Shanghai and Hangzhou have also been affected due to the unstable weather conditions, and here’s all you need to know.

Emirates Flights Affected Due To Typhoon Dolphin

The airline has mentioned how several of its flights that operate between Dubai and Shanghai and Hangzhou have been rescheduled. This comes in light of the conditions that are expected to affect operations on August 9th, which, if you do the maths today.

What Flights Are Affected?

Several flights to Shanghai have been affected. These include EK302, EK304, EK303, and EK305. In fact, flight changes have also taken place on the service between Hangzhou and Dubai. EK310 and EK311 are affected as a result; passengers have been advised to check their flight status, as there are even possibilities of further delays, all of which would finally depend on the weather conditions. Those who have been affected by the delays have been advised to contact the travel agents or Emirates if they booked the tickets directly from the airline.

What Is Typhoon Dolphin?

For those who are not aware, Typhoon Dolphin, as revealed by the BBC, had a maximum wind speed of 162 km/h on Saturday. It has been categorised as a ‘very strong typhoon’ by the Japan Meteorological Agency. There were warnings of heavy rains, storms, and lightning strikes. Some of the main areas affected in Japan included the islands of Okinawa and Amami, which are in the far south-west of the country. In fact, Typhoon Dolphin is expected to make landfall on the eastern coast of China overnight or early Monday. So, ports and schools have been shut down ahead of its arrival.

Although typhoons generally occur between May and October in the western Pacific. This year, it is expected that typhoons can become more intense due to a strong year of El Niño. So, if you are someone who is travelling to the region, make sure to be updated about the latest flight details. After all, weather conditions would determine if the flights are to be rescheduled or not.
