Etihad Rail has been the talk of the town ever since it was first announced. With new updates giving us much to imagine about the upcoming railway line, we now know what it would actually look like. Yes, at the ongoing Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference happening in Abu Dhabi, the sleek final designs were revealed.

Etihad Rail Model Unveiled At Global Rail 2025

Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference, which is happening in Abu Dhabi until October 2nd, is a highly important event. And with many developments taking place, the one that has caught our attention is regarding Etihad Rail. Yes, we finally know what the sleek new train will look like!

What Are The Features To Expect In The Train?

Going by the final designs unveiled at the event, a model of the silver train cabin was showcased. It features the distinctive black and red logo of the Etihad Rail, and from inside, the amenities look quite amazing. Each train offers three classes of Economy, Family, and First Class. The first one, which is the Economy Class, will have face-to-face seating in dark grey. Family Class will feature opposing seats, and there will be a large table in between. While for the First class, there will be wider and adjustable seats, which have been designed for the utmost comfort of the passengers.

With small foldable tables available behind each seat, there will also be an overhead compartment for storing luggage. Along with this, there will be designated spaces for larger bags.

Train Expected To Launch In 2026

Wth the train expected to launch in 2026, it will connect Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 57 minutes. Additionally, the first trains are expected to operate at a speed of up to 200 km/h. From Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, the journey time is expected to be around 100 minutes, and from Abu Dhabi to Ruwais, the journey time is approximately 70 minutes. However, two different train models will be operating on the network. One is the Chinese-manufactured CRC coaches that can accommodate 365 seats, while the other is the Spanish-built CAF coaches, which will offer 369 seats.

What About Tickets?

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that passengers will have to scan the tickets to enter the station through the smart electronic gates. The machines will allow passengers to select their travel class, choose departure and arrival stations, and even enter special requests. Ticket prices for the roads have not been announced. However, it is believed that payment options will include cash, debit & credit cards, and even Apple Pay.
