Ras Al Khaimah Launches Classic Taxi Service To Boost Heritage Tourism

Ras Al Khaimah has introduced something refreshingly different in its transport scene. The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority has introduced a new classic taxi service. Not for your regular travel, but it’s designed to blend mobility with nostalgia. Imagine vintage looks, slower-paced sightseeing vibes, and routes that actually make sense for visitors.

Ras Al Khaimah Launches Classic Taxi To Add Heritage Flair To Everyday Travel

The new classic taxis lean fully into a heritage-inspired look, offering visitors a way to move around while soaking up the atmosphere of Ras Al Khaimah’s waterfront and leisure districts, as mentioned in a report by SceneNow UAE.

The idea is to offer point-to-point rides to tourists. They want journeys to feel memorable. By rolling out classic taxis, the authority is tapping into that demand while expanding options for residents who wish for a calmer, more scenic ride.

Routes Designed For Sightseeing, Not Shortcuts

Route planning here is intentional. The classic taxis operate on selected stretches that highlight some of Ras Al Khaimah’s most popular areas, and not the busy commuter corridors.

One key focus is Marjan Island, where the taxis run within the island and connect directly to Corniche Al Qawasim. The service operates in both directions, making it easy for visitors to move between hotels, promenades, and leisure spots.

Another route runs along the full length of Corniche Al Qawasim itself, linking cafés, waterfront walks, and tourist attractions. According to the authority, these routes were chosen to boost connectivity.

Unlike generic taxis, these run on fixed operating hours, which helps maintain the service’s schedule for visitors.

This move fits neatly into Ras Al Khaimah’s broader transport strategy. The authority has made it clear that diversification is the goal that leads to enhanced options, more flexibility, and better alignment with tourism growth.

As Ras Al Khaimah continues to position itself as a lifestyle and travel destination, transport has to keep up. Classic taxis offer a small but smart addition to the network, and it becomes a reason for tourists and residents to slow down when moving around familiar places.
