Set To Open In 2029, Map Unveiled For Dubai Metro Blue Line Connecting 14 Stations

Recently, the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai revealed some new details about the upcoming Dubai Metro Blue Line. Expected to open in 2029, the Dubai RTA has revealed that the line will follow two routes. In fact, it was also mentioned that it will be connecting 14 ground-level and underground stations across the city. Here’s all you need to know about this development regarding the new Dubai Metro route.

Dubai RTA Unveils Blue Line Map

As mentioned in the post made on X, the Dubai RTA mentions how the Blue Line is expected to exceed 320,000 passengers per day. Yes, it would cover a total length of 30 km. Yes, out of this 15.5 km will be of underground tracks, while the remaining 14.5 km will be of elevated tracks. Five stations will be elevated, and four will be underground. One of the stations will be an underground interchange station, and others will be elevated in the future. The post further detailed how this route will feature Dubai Metro’s first crossing over the Creek. Yes, this would be a 1300 m bridge.

What About The Route?

As it happens, it will travel to Marsa, Dubai Creek, Al Rashidya, Al Warqa, Mirdif, Festival City, three stations at International City, Silicon Oasis, and Academic City. Not only this, but three interchange stations will also be on the route. This will be with Al Khor for the existing Green Line, Centre Point on the Red Line, and an interchange station at the International City.

It Will Seamlessly Connect To Red & Green Line

As mentioned previously, the new line would offer easy connectivity between the Red and the Green Lines through two routes. Yes, the first road would start at Al Khor Interchange Station on the Green Line in Al Jaddaf and then pass through Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Ras Al Khor. It will then reach International City One, which is also an interchange station. Split into two routes, one will span 21 km, and the other will cover 9 km. It should be noted that the blue line will connect Northeast of the city with the existing metro lines.

So, if you are someone who commutes using the Dubai Metro or any other form of public transport, you will probably be replaced by this development, which just makes travelling around the city a lot easier.
