CM Mohan Yadav Shares This Fact About Wheat
CM Yadav shared an interesting fact about wheat and asked Kamiya whether she had ever paid attention to the items placed on a puja thali. To which Kamiya replied, “Chawal hote hain, patte hote hain nariyal ke.” CM Yadav pointed out that wheat is usually not seen on the puja thali because it didn’t originate in India. Interesting, right? He added, “Isliye hum kabhi gehun ko sir pe bhi nahi lagate hain.” Kamiya was surprised to learn this and said, “Acha haan, isliye chawal ko sir pe lagate hain. Iske baare mein toh maine kabhi socha hi nahi.” He went on to explain that wheat has adverse effects on health and often leads to diabetes.

Promoting Millets Over Wheat
Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has emphasised the benefits of consuming millets, and the government is actively promoting its cultivation under the Shree Anna program. CM Yadav even thanked PM Modi for introducing the Shree Anna initiative and promoting native grains like kodo (cow grass), kutki (little millet), ragi (finger millet), makka (maize), and more. He shared that millet farming in India is of high quality and that, under the Rani Durgavati Shri Anna (Millets) Promotion Scheme, a bonus of ₹1,000 per quintal is being given to farmers. This encourages its production and branding in the market. He also mentioned that millets are a popular and healthy choice among tribal communities and that India has witnessed a significant surge in millets consumption over the past few years.
After display of his knowledge about food grains, Kamiya asked whether he is into cooking or not. He shared a story about how he used to run a restaurant at the age of 16. Want to hear that story? Watch the full episode.
