Mumbai Airport Shuts Down Operations For 6 Hours On October 18
Mumbai Airport will shut down its runways from 11 am to 5 pm to carry out maintenance work. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport took to Twitter to make an announcement on the same. Both its runways-RWY 14/32 & 09/27 will undergo post-monsoon maintenance of the runway intersection. Upgradation of AGL Aeronautical Ground Lights (AGL) and runway edge lights is in the works— said the statement.

Essential Post-Monsoon Maintenance Work At CSMIA
The airport further informs passengers of the importance of shutting the airport for 6 hours on October 18. While it may cause minor inconvenience for passengers, it is beneficial in the long run. The annual practice of runway maintenance (post-monsoon) is essential to ensure the smooth operation of 800 flights —taking off and landing each day.
