Mumbai’s CSMIA (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport) is one of the busiest airports in Asia. Passengers on Thursday were left in a frenzy at the Mumbai Airport’s T2 Terminal. Reason? Server down. Just a while back passengers flying from here had to face a lot of inconveniences as for a good 40-minute Mumbai Airport’s server was down.
Here’s How The Passengers Reacted To Mumbai Airport’s Server Down Issue:
Server down was a massive issue and it led to humongous chaos as well. Passengers were frustrated with the flight delays, longer wait times for check-in, and whatnot. Travellers were made to wait at the baggage claim area. Some took to Twitter to share the scenario right from the airport.
Boarded on time, but then stuck on board for more than 90 minutes. No clue when flight ops will resume, pilot already has said two times that it will be in 10 minutes about 40 minutes ago.

Statement From CSMIA
Mumbai International Airport Spokesperson, in a statement to Curly Tales, said, “Our passengers are requested to allocate additional time for check-in and also to kindly connect with their respective airlines, owing to a temporary network interruption outside the airport due to on-going development work in the city. Our teams are present on ground and manual processing has been initiated to facilitate all passengers. We sincerely regret the inconvenience and thank our passengers for their understanding.”

40 Minutes Of Chaos
The servers finally came back up but after 40 minutes. Hordes of travellers were spotted at the airport and extremely chaotic. But travellers could heave a sigh of relief when the servers finally came back up. The queues started right from the check-in counters and even continued till outside the gates. The sheer chaos led to many passengers boarding flights late and many who may have even missed theirs. But Mumbai Airport Authorities soon handled the situation and finally, the check-ins started happening.

What Actually Happened?
A CSMIA spokesperson told Curly Tales, “There was a network interruption resulting from a cable cut during some construction work in the city. This interrupted the various ticketing systems. All systems are now restored and working.”
Phew! We are sure the travellers are surely frustrated but glad they could finally board flights and pass the security checks. Handling millions of passengers, CSMIA is one of the world’s busiest single-runway airports. In fact, on September 17, 2022, it clocked 1,30,374 passengers in a single day. This was the highest ever since the pandemic.
