Mumbai: At 17.9° C, Mumbaikars Enjoy The Lowest Temperature In The City Since Last 4 Years

If you or someone you know lives in Mumbai, then you know that its weather is not among the best. It is quite warm throughout the year and even the winter seasons are not that cold. However, the ‘Financial Capital’ of the country recently witnessed the coolest temperature in the last four years! Mercury in Mumbai fell to 17.9° C which is the lowest temperature in the city in the last four years.

According to an article which was recently published by The Indian Express, Mumbai reached the lowest temperature in the city on March 4, 2024, Monday. The temperature was recorded two degrees below the normal temperature at 17.9° C.

The average temperature in the city is around 19° C. These temperatures were recorded by the Santacruz Observatory of the India Meteorological Department or IMD. This was the lowest in the last four years.

Prior to this, the lowest temperature was 16.6° C on the night of March 14, 2020. As per the director of IMD Mumbai, Sunil Kamble, the drop in temperature is because of the westerly winds. These winds have been blowing past Mumbai for the last two days.

Weather Predictions For The Next Few Days In The City

If reports are to go by, it is said that the minimum temperature of the city over the next few days will be anywhere between 18° C and 19° C. The maximum temperature, on the other hand, will be anywhere between 28° C and 30° C.

So, Mumbaikars can expect a pleasant nip in the weather for at least a few more days before the sweltering heat of April and May hits the city of dreams.
