Another similar incident happened when a goods train decoupled on the UP Neral-Vangani Section. Owing to this incident, passengers on the Central Railway line had to experience a number of train delays. Many local trains that ply between CSMT and Kalyan were held up because of this decoupling. The train was coupled shortly after and operations resumed.
There have been instances where a decoupled train has caused damage. In 1926, the Murulla rail accident happened wherein the draw hook of the train broke. This caused part of a train to go downhill and collide with another train!
