Services on all Central Railway lines were delayed for 20-30 minutes on Saturday morning due to a technical snag in the power supply. According to Mid-Day, the power failure lasted for about 30 minutes and was restored soon after. Due to this power failure, trains running on the system did not receive a power supply from the overhead equipment cables. This caused the trains to come to a complete standstill.

While talking to Mid-Day, Central Railway’s chief public relations officer Dr Swapnil Nila confirmed that the power supply failure caused delays of up to 30 minutes on the Nashik line, Pune line, and at Kalyan Station. However, Tata Power refuted this claim and said that there was no technical fault or problem from their side. Thankfully, because it was a Saturday morning, it wasn’t as crowded as usual.

The trains were halted between Shivaji Nagar and Malavli from 6:09 AM and 6:12 AM; and between 6:28 AM and 6:58 AM at Dehu Road-Shelarwadi and Talegaon-Kamshet section. On the Nashik line, a power failure disrupted train services at Bhusawal, Igatpuri from 6:15 AM to 7 AM.

For the Kalyan-Lonavala section, services were impacted on both up and down lines between 6.05 AM to 6.55 AM. On the Kalyan-Igatpuri line, up and down services were halted from 6.08 AM to 7.08 AM.
