Prohibitory Orders In Place From Jul 23 To Aug 6 Across Mumbai
According to Mid-Day, Mumbai Police has prohibited gatherings of five or more people, processions, and the use of loudspeakers during processions from July 23 to August 6. The restrictions have been imposed over concerns of a possible breach of peace, disturbance to public tranquillity, and threats to life and property.
The order was issued on July 18 by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) and Executive Magistrate Akbar Pathan under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951. It will remain in effect from 12:01 am on July 23 until midnight on August 6 across areas under the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

During this period, gatherings of five or more people, processions, the use of loudspeakers and amplifying equipment, musical bands, and bursting of crackers during processions will not be allowed.
However, the restrictions will not apply to weddings, funerals and funeral processions, official meetings of companies and organisations, routine social gatherings, cinema halls, theatres and other entertainment venues, courts, government offices, educational institutions, factories, shops, and commercial establishments carrying out their regular activities.
Processions and public gatherings that receive prior permission from the concerned zonal Deputy Commissioners of Police and other authorised officers will also be exempt.
