Mumbai Rain: Heavy Downpours And Trains Are Running Late!

On Wednesday, more than 100 local trains were cancelled in Mumbai and the surrounding areas. This was because of the substantial disruptions created by the heavy precipitation. Express train service was delayed on the Central and Western lines, and several long-distance trains were redirected.

Commuters were forced to walk on rail lines to get to the closest stations because conditions were so bad on some routes. Waterlogging forced the Central Railway to halt operations between Badlapur and Ambernath in the Thane district. Moreover, it affected trains from Kalyan to Karjat. Services on the Kalyan-Badlapur section were resumed after seven hours. In addition, point failures between Kalyan and Kasara caused a three-hour service interruption.
