An unfortunate series of events led to a major stampede at the Bandra Train Terminus in Mumbai. As many as nine people ended up getting injured as a result of this stampede. The injured people are being treated in the Bhabha Hospital. If reports are to go by, seven of the nine people injured have already been stabilised. Mumbai: Stampede At Bandra Train Terminus Due To Rush
According to an article which was recently published by The Free Press Journal or the FPJ, the incident took place today, October 27, 2024. At 5:56 in the morning, Train number 22921 heading to Gorakhpur from Bandra arrived at the terminus.
This drew a large crowd which ended up causing a significant stampede. Pictures and videos from the incident have surfaced on social media and they are quite chilling.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or the BMC, the rush is caused by the festive season rush owing to Diwali. During this time, a large number of people travel to their hometowns. This usually leads to overcrowding of almost all forms of public transport.
As Many As Nine People Were Injured In This Tragic Incident
As many as nine people were injured. They are being treated in the Bhabha Hospital and seven of the nine people have stabilised. The other two are still in critical condition.
The injured were identified as Divyanshu Yogendra Yadav who is 18 years old, Indrajith Sahani who is 19 years old, Mohammad Shareef Shaikh who is 25 years old, Noor Mohammad Shaikh who is 18 years old, Parmeshwar Sukhdar Gupta who is 28 years old, Ramsevak Ravindra Prasad Prajapati who is 29 years old, Ravindra Harihar Chuma who is 30 years old, Sanjay Tilakram Kangay who is 27 years old, and Shabir Abdul Rehman who is 40 years old.
