Mumbai-based The NGO SheSays’s founder, Trisha Shetty, has stated that her mother was robbed on an IndiGo flight and blamed the airline’s staff for handling the incident improperly. Sharing the incident on social networking platform X, Shetty accused the IndiGo team of failing to assist her mother in submitting a complaint.
IndiGo Flight Staff Slammed For Not Being Helpful
Dear @IndiGo6E my mom got robbed on your flight 6E 17. Flight crew kept her handbag in the overhead. When she fell asleep,a passenger took her bag. Luckily she woke up when he was replacing her bag. Your crew refused to help her file a complaint. They made excuses for thief 1/2

On X, Trisha shared the details of the incident and mentioned that it occurred on flight 6E 17. She explained that her mother’s handbag was placed in the overhead compartment by the cabin crew. Furthermore, she stated how another passenger tried to steal the bag while her mother was asleep. The airline staff failed to offer assistance despite so many complaints from fellow passengers.
In her post, she tagged IndiGo6E and explained the whole incident. She added that her mother woke up, fortunately, as another passenger was attempting to replace her bag. Additionally, she said that the IndiGo staff was attempting to justify the theft and declined to help her lodge a complaint. In the following thread, she added that a fellow passenger supported her mother, and that’s how she got her stuff back. Trisha expressed how deeply troubling this situation was and that the crew handled it quite terribly.
Ma’am, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. We understand that Ms. Shetty raised a concern regarding a fellow customer attempting to access her cabin baggage during the flight. (1/4)

Furthermore, IndiGo addressed this matter and gave the client the assurance that the crew expeditiously resolved the issue and verified that nothing was missing. The crew acknowledged that the passenger may lodge a formal complaint when she arrived, but they respected her choice to drop the subject because she had a connecting flight. Security personnel are stationed close to the plane to help passengers if necessary, according to IndiGo.
Netizens’ Reactions To This Situation
On social media, many people showed their support for the IndiGo traveller. While some people shared their own traumatic incidents with IndiGo, others criticised the airline’s service. Let’s check out some reactions.
Your mother is lucky she got her bag back. Travelling by Indigo has become traumatic. Two years back, my husband fell/rolled down from top of the metal ramp. He was badly injured but the airhostess was rude. It took many months fr my husband to recover

No point texting them and hoping they’ll hold any responsibility. They have been ranked one of the worst airlines in the world, which automatically makes them the worst airline in India.
Sorry for your traumatic experience Trisha.

The crew of indigo are trained for announcement in PA system, and sevings food and drinks but not in managing tough situations. They tend to side with aggressor hoping to defuse the aggression.

@IndiGo6E crew also rude & ill-mannered. Yesterday 6E6103 from Kolkata to Dibrugarh, when fellow passenger requested drinking water, rude airhostess replied ‘I have 2 hands only’! Hospitality and attitude lacking! @DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI

Awful/unacceptable. No wonder Indigo was named as one of the world’s worst airlines. Their near monopoly of the domestic aviation market has clearly lowered their service standards, with @DGCAIndia “diligently” observing……
