In a case of attempted suicide, a 43-year-old woman doctor reportedly jumped off Mumbai’s Atal Setu bridge. As per reports, the woman jumped off the bridge at 2.14 PM on Monday. A taxi driver driving along the bridge alerted the police about the incident. The police were able to ascertain the woman’s identity by Monday evening. The authorities are currently searching for the woman’s body.
43-Year-Old Woman Jumps Off Mumbai’s Atal Setu Bridge
A 43-year-old doctor from Parel allegedly jumped off the newly inaugurated Atal Setu bridge in Mumbai. The incident took place on Monday afternoon and was witnessed by a taxi driver. The police identified the woman as Kinjal Kantilal Shah. She was, reportedly, battling depression for the last few years. She lived with her father and was undergoing treatment.
According to the police, her father filed a missing complaint after she left home on Monday morning but her phone was not reachable. Later, the family found a suicide note by her. In the note, the woman admitted to having planned to jump off the Atal Setu bridge. She even mentioned that the police should not harass the taxi driver whose vehicle she would be travelling in.

Police Continues Search Operation For The Woman
The police checked the CCTV footage of the area to trace her. While searching, they found that she boarded a taxi from Dadar around 1:45 PM. Then, the coastal security police, Nhava Sheva police, Bhoiwada police, and Motor Transport police from Mumbai began searching for her. So far, they have not found her body.
According to CCTV footage of around 2:14 PM, the woman jumped into the sea from the bridge. The search operation for the same is still ongoing and is reported to go on till Wednesday night.
