The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link or MTHL, which is officially known as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, was inaugurated just days ago. It recently witnessed its first car accident. A car swerved, hit the railing and flipped over multiple times. Miraculously though, the people inside the car were all safe and no loss of life occurred. Here are all of the important information that you would need to know about the car accident on Atal Setu.

Atal Setu Witnesses Its 1st Car Accident Days After Opening

According to an article which was recently published by NDTV, the accident took place on January 21, Sunday around 3 PM. A dashcam footage captured the entire accident. The video has now gone viral on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The video shows a red Maruti swerving dangerously close to the car from where the video was shot. It ended up ramming into the divider and flipping over multiple times. Fortunately, it landed in an upright position.

No Loss Of Life; Everyone In The Car Was Reported Safe

It was very clear that the car was being driven at an extremely high speed. If reports are to go by, there was carrying two women and three children. Miraculously, they only sustained minor injuries and no loss of life happened.

As per reports, the car was travelling from Uran’s Chirle to Mumbai on the bridge. There is a strict speed limit on the Atal Setu and drivers who are using the bridge should all comply with it. This is crucial for the safety of others as well as their own.
