Geeta Basra Opens Up About Her 8 Year Hiatus From Work & Opening Her Own Production House

Our latest Sunday Brunch episode is out! This time, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani was invited to Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh’s home in Mumbai. The famous actress treated us with some delicious homemade Gujarati and Punjabi food that looked absolutely drool-worthy. Over food and candid conversations, Geeta opened up about how it feels to return to the Hindi film industry after eight years. Here’s what she said.

Geeta Basra Opens Up About Returning To Work

When actress Geeta Basra married former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, she was removed from four projects, the actress candidly revealed between bites. After marriage, her professional life slowed down as directors rejected her just because she was married. However, now, after eight years, she is returning to work with her own production house, Purple Rose Entertainment.

When Kamiya asked her on the show how she felt about returning to work and how many years of break she took, the actress replied, “I took a break of eight years.” She continued, “The moment I got married, Hinaya was born straightaway, one year later. Obviously, once you’re a mother, a new chapter opens where your priorities and focus change at that time.”

She then added, “Now, I am a producer. I have just launched my first production house, Purple Rose Entertainment. We have produced our first show, ‘Who’s the Boss.’” She revealed that she got a fantastic response from the audience and that more episodes will be coming soon.
