The actor, who celebrates his birthday on November 26, witnessed the horrors of the 2008 Mumbai attacks unfold that day. Recalling the chilling sense of helplessness, he shared how he had almost planned to celebrate at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.
Arjun Rampal Recalls The Horrors Of 26/11 Terror Attack
During Hello! Hall of Fame Awards, Arjun Rampal revealed that he was on his way to the Taj Mahal Palace hotel on the night of the 26/11 attacks, which also happened to be his birthday. He began by sharing that he was at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, where an award show was underway, when the first blast occurred in 2008.
We recalled that he and his friends were on the way to the Taj to celebrate his birthday when the first explosion occurred near Mahim. “One guy was getting ready–God bless him. We were at the bar, and we ordered a drink, and the first bomb went off near Mahim. I heard that sound and the whole glass kind of shook and rattled, and we were like, ‘what the hell was that?’” the actor shared on stage.
“In 10 minutes, our phones were ringing, and everybody said there was some gang war that had broken out in Colaba. In 20-30 minutes, the whole of Four Seasons was cordoned off,” he added. Arjun also recalled how the owner of Four Seasons Hotel, Adarsh Jatia, offered him a suite and asked him to stay, as it wasn’t safe to stay out.

How Dhurandhar Became His Revenge
“On my birthday, I saw the horrors of the 26/11 attacks play out. In the morning, when I drove back home, I had to stop at least three times because I felt like I was going to be sick,” he shared. Reflecting on the experience, for Arjun, when Aditya Dhar narrated Dhurandhar’s 26/11 sequence, he felt like he was going to have his revenge.
