People who live in Mumbai’s Vasai region and use the local train on a daily basis: your travelling just got an upgrade. The Vasai railway station recently added two major changes in just a span of one month that are now open to the public for easy transportation.
Vasai Railway Station Gets Two New Upgrades
A new foot overbridge and part of an elevated deck have been built at the Vasai Railway Station that are now open for public use. According to Mid-day, the new foot overbridge and elevated deck were built under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP)-3A and are open for better passenger facilities at the station.
The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd (MRVC) announced that a 6-metre-wide and 42-metre-long foot overbridge connecting the east area to platforms 4-5 and 6-7 has been done and opened for use.
Back in December 2025, a 50-metre-long and 10-metre-wide elevated deck, which is a part of a planned 250-metre-long structure, was completed and opened for the public.
Vasai station is one of the main stations of the Western Railway corridor. As per officials, the new facilities will help ease the crowd and improve the movement of passengers at the busy suburban station.
Due to heavy suburban train traffic and operational challenges, the station improvement work is being carried out in phases. The project aims to improve passenger safety and make more space for people travelling from the station.
