Who doesn’t know of Neeraj Chopra? The Golden Boy, who made all of India immensely proud after winning a gold medal in the Olympics for javelin throwing, is a man filled with talent and humility. To let us in on his impressive journey to winning the gold medal in the Olympics and everything that came after that, he joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, on this Sunday Brunch episode.

Neeraj Chopra Talked About His Introduction To Javelin

The conversation started with him revealing that he is a big foodie who loves the local desi food from his village in Haryana. Of course, he likes street food as well, but he rarely indulges in it. A gold medalist sports personality, Neeraj Chopra, revealed that even though he got to know about Javelin much later, he was always into sports.

As a kid, Neeraj Chopra used to play volleyball and cricket with his friends. When talking about his introduction to javelin, he shared that he went to a stadium simply to indulge in some sports for fitness, and there he saw a few of his friends throwing the javelin. At that moment, he realised how passionate he was about it and wanted to make something big out of that passion.

He Addressed The Attention He Got After The Win

Surely, it must have been a huge moment to have won an Olympic gold medal. While the whole country was feeling joyful, he must have felt so much more. Addressing the win, he shared how much things have changed in his life since the win. He talked about how everything in his life is much more smooth and how he is able to focus on his sport better.

It was definitely a remarkable journey, but now, after all the fame, he is greeted by fans wherever he goes. We were curious about how he felt about that and how he dealt with it. Neeraj Chopra acknowledged the attention he now gets and also mentioned that he is mostly approached by fellow athletes who look up to him. The love and attention he gets in Rudra, his village in Haryana, means the most to him.
