It has been a few days since Nepal is witnessing relentless heavy rainfall. The unexpected massive downpours created terrible chaos triggering horrifying floods, life-threatening landslides, major destructions, and more. Unfortunately, many people lost their lives due to these natural calamities. According to the latest weather updates, the weather is only about to worsen, intensifying the present conditions further.

Nepal Government Issued Fresh Alert For Heavy Rainfall

In between all the catastrophic incidents ongoing in Nepal currently, the government issued a new alert for heavy rainfall on Wednesday. The recent warning is regarding more and more intense downpours in different parts of the country. With this, the dangers of widespread floods and destruction rise too. The government warned citizens about the heavy showers after the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology stated risks of intense rain in different places that have faced the wrath of continuous downpours, according to a report by The Indian Express.

The alert comes after Nepal received incessant heavy rainfall in the past few days. The calamities have killed more than 240 people nationwide. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak urged disaster management authorities and concerned team agencies to stay on high alert after coming across the recent forecasts of massive rainfall in the Bagmati and Koshi provinces. In addition, Kathmandu Valley is likely to receive incessant showers on Thursday.

Also, Ramesh Lekhak instructed the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, security agencies, local governments, and chief district officers to remain ready and take steps against any fear of potential disasters and damages.

All India Radio News (@airnewsalerts) shared a picture of the flooded Nepal.

Many parts of central and eastern Nepal witnessed horrific consequences of heavy rainfall. Many regions are submerged for 5-6 days. Unfortunately, the recent predictions of heavy rain are likely to worsen the conditions with more damage.

Home Ministry spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari shared updates about the concerned teams rescuing 13,071 people from affected places in the last few days. Over 20,000 security personnel are stationed in different regions across Nepal. Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, and Nepal Police are working non-stop to rescue and save people.

People left their houses to run away from disastrous conditions. Roads have been damaged to such an extent that these pose risks for travellers.
