As per a report by Live Mint, Delhi Airport’s Terminal 2 is set to reopen on October 26, 2025, after undergoing major upgrades. The terminal was built 40 years ago and had been temporarily closed in April for renovation work.
Reportedly, from the intervening night of October 25-26, around 120 daily flights operated by IndiGo and Air India will shift back to Terminal 2. But what’s new at the revamped terminal? The upgraded Terminal 2 is designed to promise a comfortable travel experience. It now comes with modern facilities, advanced technology, and improved passenger services. X user, @Amarrrrz, also shared this update on their account.

New Facilities To Look Forward To At T2
The T2 at Delhi Airport will have new facilities and major upgrades. Here’s what they are:
- Self-Baggage Drop (SBD): This new feature will let passengers check in their luggage without waiting in long queues. All they need to do is scan their boarding pass, tag their baggage, and drop it off. It is quick and hassle-free. Amazing, right? This new feature will definitely make many passengers happy!
- New Passenger Boarding Bridges: These bridges feature autonomous docking technology for quicker aircraft handling. They also come with elevated ramps for passengers in wheelchairs, optimally adjusted cabins for smooth boarding, and side-covering cushions with swing doors for extra safety. These are the first of their kind in India.
- Modern Design: The terminal has been revamped with skylight designs, bright ceilings, and a more inviting atmosphere. T2 also promises improved road connectivity for smoother access to and from the terminal.
- HVAC and Fire Safety Upgrades: The renovated Terminal 2 at Delhi Airport now has upgraded HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems for cleaner air and maximum passenger comfort. The authorities have also installed advanced fire safety systems for passenger safety.
