Vehicles passing through the Al Maktoum Bridge toll gate at certain times during the night on weekdays and all day on Sundays will not be permitted to utilise Salik. According to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, while the Floating Bridge is closed, the toll-free hours on the Al Maktoum Bridge apply (RTA). On weekdays, during certain hours of the night, and all day on Sundays, Salik will not be applicable to cars travelling through the Al Maktoum Bridge toll gate.
The country’s New Weekend Consists Of Friday A Half-Day, Saturday & Sunday
The Floating Bridge will be closed at the following times starting January 15:
Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 10 pm to 6 am.
Weekends: Saturday at 10 pm till Monday at 6 am.
The UAE’s adoption of the new workweek is reflected in the new timetable. Friday half-day, Saturday, and Sunday make up the country’s new weekend. “Yes, while the Floating Bridge is closed, Salik fees will not be charged to the Al Maktoum Bridge,” an RTA spokeswoman said. The Khaleej Times reports on this. This means that on Fridays, the bridge will be toll-free.

Salik Is The Name Of Dubai’s Autonomous Road Toll Collection System
Salik is the name of Dubai’s self-driving toll collection system. Each time a car passes through a Salik toll station, Dh4 is immediately deducted from a prepaid account. The Al Maktoum Bridge has one of Dubai’s seven toll gates (Umm Hurair Road). Despite the weekend change, the RTA has already stated that parking on Fridays will remain free.
