The Dwarka Expressway, AKA Northern Peripheral Road, is one of the most anticipated road projects in India. But Netizens are asking about the toll fares!

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Shares Video Of Dwarka Expressway

Minister Nitin Gadkari provided glimpses of the Dwarka Expressway, India’s first elevated road project, on Sunday. The expressway was referred to as a “state-of-the-art” project and a “marvel of engineering” by the Union Minister of Highways and Road Transport.

The 34-metre-wide expressway is being built in Haryana and the national capital at a cost of â‚ą9,000 crore and spans over 18.9 km. The expressway is a four-level road network of grade roads, raised roads, tunnels, underpasses, and flyovers. Moreover, it will start near Shiv Murti and conclude at the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza.

On both sides of the motorway, a three-lane service road is also being built. The entire expressway will also have an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) feature, which will enhance the overall travelling experience.

But Netizens Are Asking About Toll Fares

After watching the video, several users expressed their joy and congratulated the government for this achievement. However, many have shown their displeasure regarding the rising toll fares. A user stated that the minister should have even informed them about the toll fare. Another person asked when the Kherki Daula toll will be removed.

One of the users requested the original proposed toll tax for this new expressway and the time frame of toll collection.

In India, rising toll fares have been a matter of concern. In April, a Mint report stated that the toll rates have hiked. In fact, vehicles travelling from national highways will have to give 14 per cent more fare. These prices have resulted in some horrifying incidents. Like this man in Noida mowed down a toll plaza employee because he did not wish to pay the fare.
