The National Highways Authority of India or NHAI has recently delisted Paytm as one of its authorised FASTag providers. This move was undertaken as a result of the directive recently issued by the Reserve Bank of India or RBI. The deadline has been extended from February 29 to March 18. The RBI also states that FASTags are not interchangeable. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this update.
No Paytm FASTag From March 15 As NHAI Delists It
According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, customers are advised to close their accounts if they are provided by Paytm Payments Bank or PPBL. This is because the FASTags, as per the RBI are not interchangeable.
The NHAI also issues FASTags and you can get it directly from them from their mobile app. ‘My FASTag’. The app is available for both Android and iOS. All you have to do is launch the app, navigate to ‘Buy FASTag’, purchase it via either Flipkart or Amazon and then activate it.
To activate it, you have to tap on the ‘Activate FASTag’ option and follow the instructions that are mentioned there. You also have to scan the QR Code in order to activate it.
