The GDRFA and the airline collaborated on the move, which was revealed by Emirates. The contract was signed by Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer of Emirates, and His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA in Dubai.

This collaborative endeavour aims to significantly enhance visitors to Dubai’s creative and technologically oriented flying experience. The arrangement enhances traffic volume operations in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. This guarantees that both passengers transiting to internal flights and those arriving in Dubai will receive a quicker and more effective airport experience.

How Will This System Work?

Travellers can breeze through the DXB International Airport Terminal 3 Check-In, Lounges, Boarding, and Immigration. How? Well, AI systems will help detect passengers’ distinctive facial attributes and link them to their passports for instant identity confirmation. The use of biometric recognition technologies is the real player of the adopted system. GDRFA has carefully curated a biometric database that will identify passengers at various points in the airport.

The service will commence in 2023. This initiative will start giving their official consent in a few simple clicks via the Emirates app. You might see this service available at Emirates self-check-in kiosks, or in person at Emirates check-in desks, a benefit that was previously only available to UAE residents and GCC nationals.
