Noida Restaurant Owner Shoot Swiggy Delivery Boy

Recently, the incident of a restaurant owner being shot by a Swiggy delivery boy in Greater Noida made headlines over several media platforms. As it was reported initially, a Swiggy delivery boy went into an argument with a restaurant worker at Greater Noida’s Zam Zam restaurant over a delay in the order, and when the restaurant owner involved himself to stop the fight between the two, he was shot by the delivery agent. The eatery owner, identified as Sunil Agarwal succumbed to death. The police arrested three men allegedly related to the case. As per the latest update, the cops have confirmed that the three men involved in the shooting were under the influence of alcohol and they are not connected with the eatery or the delivery agents.

Responding to the incident, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has banned food delivery services from restaurants from 10 PM to 6 AM in the district. During the night curfew, only health, emergency and essential services will be allowed.

The Bullet Came From Outside

According to a Hindustan Times report, additional deputy commissioner of police, Greater Noida, Vishal Pandey said, “A Swiggy delivery boy was engaged in a heated argument with restaurant staff, Narayan, over a delay in food. When the restaurant owner Sunil Agarwal reached there to intervene, someone opened fire from outside the restaurant and the bullet hit Agarwal in the head.” The statement confirms that the bullet came from outside and the delivery agent was not involved.

Police Arrested 3 Men Allegedly Linked With The Incident

Reportedly, before the incident took place,10 delivery agents were at the eatery to collect 15 food orders. The delivery boy who went into an argument with the restaurant staffer had to collect chicken biryani and poori sabzi. The chicken biryani was ready, but he was told to wait for the poori sabzi. That’s when the quarrel ensued between him and the restaurant worker. When Agarwal entered the scene, he was shot. But as confirmed by police, the delivery boy is not the culprit.

The three men who were arrested by the cops are Vikas Chaudhury, Devendra, and Sunil. The three of them hail from Anupshahr in Bulandshahr. DCP Pandey said that they were hanging around the eatery when the argument took place and appeared to be drunk. As Agarwal intervened, they shot him. Vikas Chaudhury, who works as a contractor, is being suspected to have opened the fire.
