Yes, you read that right. Similar to grocery shopping, you can pre-order a sacrificial animal and get it delivered to your doorstep. For this year’s Eid Al Adha, residents can pre-order their sacrificial animals on apps like Careem and Noon. This innovative service brings Qurbani to your fingertips, saving time and effort.

Within days of launching, both platforms have seen a surge in orders. Nearly one million residents have engaged with Noon’s Eid Al Adha section alone. The digital revolution has undoubtedly made the Qurbani process simpler and more accessible.

Eid Al Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, honours Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. Traditionally, the meat from the sacrificed animal is shared among family, friends, and the needy. This act of giving remains, but the way we acquire the animal has evolved.

This year marks the first time grocery delivery apps offer this service. Careem, in collaboration with local partners, and Noon, partnering with municipality-approved slaughterhouses, have made this possible. Users can browse a dedicated Eid Al Adha section on these apps, choosing from various sheep and goats, priced between Dh400 to Dh2,150.

But that’s not all. Both Careem and Noon allow buyers to select the cut and the number of pieces. You can also decide which day of Eid you want the sacrifice performed. The meat is then delivered on the same day, ensuring freshness and convenience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the tradition of Qurbani has seamlessly integrated with modern technology. Ordering goats for Qurbani through an app not only preserves the ritual but also adds convenience. As we embrace this digital age, we witness how traditions adapt, making life easier while honouring our customs. So, this Eid Al Adha, let technology lend a helping hand in your Qurbani preparations.
