Netizens React To The Businessman’s Post
Incorrect analogy. Dubai was not built for such heavy rains – rains that would flood most cities. A better analogy would be if it suddenly snowed heavily in Bombay, which was obviously not built to handle snow at all. Would people in snowy Oslo mock Bombay? https://t.co/bqNzEqZf0Z

After he made a comparison, one user questioned its applicability. He further went on and explained that Dubai was not built for heavy rains. The better analogy would be if Mumbai was snowed and the city was not built to handle it.
Another user asked if people are going to shame Dubai like they shame India for the flood.
Are people going to shame Dubai now like they shame India when it floods!

A user directly addressed the businessman and stated that Mumbai had not been built on the desert. The current situation of the city is unexpected and Mumbai was built for monsoon.
Yes Anand .. but Mumbai has not been built on a Desert .. What’s happening in this part of the world is unexpected .. Mumbai was built around climatic conditions on which Monsoons were a part of …

Others supported his viewpoint and contended that Mahindra wasn’t making a joke but rather articulating the truth. A user commented that Anand Mahindra is not mocking Dubai but simply stating the fact that the city looks like Mumbai.
Sanjiv,
1. @anandmahindra is not mocking Dubai, merely stating a fact that Mumbai does look like that often when it rains, but it’s Dubai this time.
2. Dubai or any country specially built with modern infrastructure can never , I repeat never overrule any weather conditions and… https://t.co/jHl9ZK0heQ pic.twitter.com/cCJPcOb4NK— Hims (@maveinlux) April 16, 2024
The person went on to say that excessive cloud seeding usage has contributed significantly to heavy downpours.
