The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) informed the thunderstorms and rain that hit the Emirates. These unexpected showers offered residents an unforeseen rescue from the region’s typically parched climate.

Crown prince of Dubai also took a video of a thunderstorm hitting the Burj Khalifa in his rearview mirror of the car.

Not all tweets were on a sweet note. Some also shared how Dubai’s drainage system needs to be more efficient to fight water clogging during such unexpected showers.

Concerns For Road Safety By Dubai Police

While most reactions were positive and lighthearted, the heavy rainfall also raised concerns about road safety. Dubai Police issued warnings, urging drivers to exercise caution on rain-affected roads to prevent accidents and maintain safety.

These recent rains are part of a broader pattern of increasingly unpredictable weather in the UAE. Despite the challenges presented by the unexpected downpour, the rain in Dubai offered a refreshing change from the usual heat. Which Emirates Of UAE Become Victims Of Rain?

Ras Al Khaimah, specifically in Jabal Al Haban experienced maximum rainfall that reached 34.9mm. Next in line is Manama region followed closely by 31.4mm. Then comes Al Marjan with 25.8mm and the Wadi Towa with rainfall of 14.5mm.

UAE was overall affected by the sudden showers. Dubai RTA urged motorists going towards Sharjah to be extra careful as the rainwater has clogged Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
Also, Dubai police informed the residents travelling to the Airport to take a metro instead of driving to avoid traffic. Dubai’s Dubai’s Al Quoz area experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in particular. According to the National Centre of Meteorology, heavy rain is expected till Friday.
