Air India has launched ‘Fly Prior’, a new ancillary service offering greater flexibility to its passengers flying within India. With ‘Fly Prior’, Air India passengers can now opt for an alternative flight departing up to 12 hours earlier than their originally booked flight.
Air India Introduces ‘Fly Prior’ For Last-Minute Plans
If you ever needed to make last-minute changes in your travel plans, with Air India, that’s now possible. With Fly Prior, travellers can make last-minute amends to their travel plans as per their needs. Whether they need to arrive at their destination earlier or attend an unscheduled appointment, they can certainly travel earlier. Passengers can opt for an alternative flight departing up to 12 hours before the originally booked flight. However, the departure dates of both flights need to be on the same date.
To avail of alternative flights, passengers can head to Air India’s ticketing counters and check-in desks at airports across India. The ‘Fly Prior’ service is complimentary for Platinum and Gold members of Air India’s Flying Returns loyalty programme. The rest of the guests can easily buy the service at an additional cost.
Moreover, with ‘Fly Prior’ passengers will be subject to seat availability in the same cabin class originally booked. So, if you originally booked an Economy Class ticket. With Fly Prior, you will also be allotted a seat in the Economy Class on the alternative flight.
Reach Your Destination Sooner At An Additional Cost
Once passengers opt for the Air India service, they will receive an instant confirmation. The confirmation will be about the modified booking on the earlier booked flight. When it comes to their checked-in baggage, it will be instantly accepted. If there are any other purchased ancillary services which are added to the previous booking like priority handling, upgrade, excess baggage, etc., will be transferred to the alternative flight departing earlier. Bear in mind, that this will exclude special meal requests and seat selection.
The ‘Fly Prior’ service fees will be structured based on the following flight routes:
- ₹2,199 for flights flying between major Indian cities, namely Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Kolkata
- ₹1,499 for flights to or from any other destinations within India
