In a quiet region of West Sikkim, Martam is a lovely Himalayan village with breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. The region is well known for its pleasant small-town lifestyle and breathtaking natural surroundings. While Uttarey, Bermiok, and Rinchenpong are popular tourist destinations that are relatively close by, Martam is far away from the annoyance of the tourist crowd. This small community is well-known for the variety of plants and animals that it is home to, as well as for having some of Sikkim’s most beautiful birds.

Martam, an immaculate hamlet in West Sikkim, is one of Bermiok Martam’s attractions. If you want to see authentic Sikkimese rural life in the Himalayas and get a breathtaking panoramic view of Kanchenjunga, head to Martam village.

On the village’s grounds, the “Yuma Samyo Manghim” temple, which was built by followers of this religion, still stands as a monument to the community’s glorious religious past. A substantial stone bench that was once the seat of the famous mystic Guru Teyongsi Srijunga may be seen at the entrance to the mystic temple. Legend has it that Guru Srijunga used to sit here and give sermons to his devoted followers.
