Featuring 125 Cultural, Artistic & More Events, Dhofar Municipality Prepares For Khareef Season

Recently, Dhofar Municipality unveiled a full set of programmes for the Dhofar Khareef 2026. As revealed on June 15th, this programme will run from June 21st to September 21st. It would feature 125 cultural, artistic, entertainment, and sporting events, which would happen across Salalah and other wilayats of the governorate. As revealed in a report of Muscat Daily, Dhofar Khareef 2026 is one of the most awaited seasons in Oman. And this year, it’s returning from June 21st to September 21st. The expanded programme featuring 125 cultural, artistic, sports, and entertainment events is a part of the broader strategy to consolidate Dhofar’s position as a leading tourism destination. Moreover, the aim is to attract not just visitors from Oman, but even abroad.

Highlights Of The Festival That You Will Want To Know

Highlights of the 2026 edition include the second edition of the Dhofar International Theatre Festival, which will take place from September 14th to 22nd, along with the inaugural Dhofar International Sculpture Festival. There are even plans for heritage, symphony performances, improvised comedy shows, international choir concerts, and a myriad of cultural, sports, and traditional activities.

But where will these events be happening? Well, major venues include Ittin Square, which has been newly revamped. You can also find these events happening at the Ittin Plain City Centre, the modern waterfront zone, the health park at Salalah Public Park, Al Murooj Theatre, and the dedicated Children’s Time zone at Awqad Public Park. The events for children have been designed as an interactive educational and entertainment city, which is perfect for young visitors.

Several Attractions Of The Governorate

There are also other attractions that will be happening in the governorate. These would happen at Osara on Raysut Beach, La Mer Al Mughsail, Nova Entertainment, and the Samharam Heritage Village. These venues would offer family-friendly activities, complete with restaurants, shopping, and leisure facilities, making it the perfect place to spend time with the family.

There are even plans for artistic programmes, which will feature symphony performances with participants coming in from countries like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. On the sports front, there are even plans for the Dhofar Marathon, the Salalah Cycling Tour and Drag Racing Events.
