Oman Air Says Khasab Flights Will Return Once Safety Conditions Improve

Oman Air says flights to and from Khasab Airport will return, but only once everything needed to operate the route safely is fully in place. That means no fixed restart date for now. The airline made it clear that it isn’t willing to rush safety, even if passengers are eager to get back to one of Oman’s most popular coastal destinations.

Waiting To Fly To Khasab? Oman Air Says Safety Comes First

Oman Air says it is currently conducting trial flights on the route to ensure operations are running as they should. The airline is testing procedures, checking readiness and making sure the airport can support regular services once they return.

But airlines tend to be cautious with routes that require extra operational checks, especially when geography and weather conditions can sometimes make things more complicated than they appear on paper.

Local Authorities Are Part Of The Process Too

Oman Air says it is working closely with officials in Musandam as well as Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority to prepare for the return of flights. Everyone involved appears to be focusing on the same thing: getting services back without cutting corners.

That also means passengers may need to be patient for a little while longer.

Khasab Remains One Of Oman’s Most Popular Escapes

For people living in the UAE and other Gulf countries, Khasab has become a favourite short-break destination over the years.

The dramatic mountains, dhow cruises and calm waters have turned the Musandam region into an easy weekend getaway for many families and adventure seekers alike. Which is exactly why travellers are keeping a close eye on updates.

For now, Oman Air hasn’t announced when regular flights will officially restart. But the message from the airline is fairly straightforward: services will return once the route is ready and all safety requirements have been met.
