Opposition Enjoys Tandoori Chicken And Gajar Ka Halwa Potluck As They Protest Outside Parliament

Parliament

Food matters have always been controversial in our country and as per reports, opposition leaders protesting in Parliament were not spared too. Various parties from the opposition sat together to protest against the suspension of Rajya Sabha members during the Parliament session on Monday and Tuesday. During the protest outside the Parliament, what caught the most attention was that all parties brought in their own regional cuisines to be served throughout the day.

Picnic or Protest At Parliament? Says BJP

Things got a little controversial after a media report on Tandoori Chicken being served to the protesters outside the Parliament got out. A BJP member said that the suspended opposition members were reportedly eating Tandoori Chicken in front of Gandhi’s statue. Gandhi was a strict vegetarian and was against animal killing. He said that people wondered if it was sort of a picnic going on in the name of a protest.

Food Solidarity Among Parliamentarians

Well, a few of the opposition members took a dig at the questions raised, saying that BJP is scared of the solidarity projected by the opposition members. Opposition Members even said that the comments are needless and one can eat whatever they want to.

As per reports, the Opposition members protesting were served servings of different kinds. While the party DMK added southern flavoured food to their meals, the AAP party served North Indian delights like Lassi and Juice. However, the Congress party did not contribute as much and did not sit through the protest longer too.

The protesting MPs also told that Sharad Pawar’s party, NCP did not join in the protest outside the Parliament.
