Owners Of Bangkok’s Award-Wining Le Du To Open Thai Fine-Dining Restaurant In Hong Kong

Bangkok’s award-winning restaurant, Le Du is the brainchild of Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn and Rungroj “Tao” Ingudananda. After making a mark in Bangkok, the founders are all set to bring to take Thai food to new levels in Hong Kong by launching, Niras in June. Here’s why Niras will soon lace the wish lists of food connoisseurs in Hong Kong.

Le Du took the renowned first place in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 awards in March this year. Over the years, it became known for its rotating seasonal menu, exquisitely presented food and stunning ambience. Apart from tantalising the taste buds of folks in Bangkok, the co-founders are bringing Thai cuisine to the Hong Kong food scene.

With their all-new Niras, named after nirat, a form of Thai poetry, you can expect dishes here that are poetry in motion. This is the first time Chef Ton and his business partner ‘Tao’ bring the essence of the renowned Le Du overseas. Thailand’s vibrant and diverse cuisine will dance on the palates of food connoisseurs in Hong Kong. At Niras, classic Thai dishes with international influences celebrating seasonal produce are the highlight.

Niras To Celebrate Thai Flavours & Produce

According to TimeOut, Niras can accommodate 60 guests in their three private rooms. The fine-dining Thai restaurant has elegant interiors with gold accents, a glass chandelier and banquettes with intimate two-seaters. The Head Chef is Mai Naruemon Ratiphuthilap who has 8 years of experience working at Le Du. Moreover, if you’ve always wanted to try exquisite meals at Le Du, you can certainly do so at Niras.

After all, Niras will serve the same menu that led to it earning its first Michelin star in 2019. Some of the dishes served and celebrated here are duck with potato Massaman curry, Thai classic dessert mango sticky rice, river prawn with rice and tom yum and more.
