Now that we have tantalised you enough, here is Padma Lakshmi’s Mysore Pak recipe that you can follow to make this delicious dessert at home!
Ingredients:
- Water
- Brown Sugar
- Besan/gram flour
- Ghee
Method:
1. Take 2 cups of water in a pan.
2. Then, add 2 cups of brown sugar to it.
3. Stir it gently till the sugar dissolves in the water and bring the mixture to a boil.
4. To ensure that your sugar syrup is ready for the next step, check if the mixture falls off the spoon in a one-string consistency.
5. Now, add besan to the syrup and whisk it quickly. The idea is to ensure that no lumps of besan are formed.
6. Then, add the ghee to the mix and keep stirring it. Make sure to keep the heat on medium-low.
7. Keep stirring till the mixture comes off the sides and has a blob-like consistency.
8. Once done, take it off the heat and place it in a container.
9. Smooth out the Mysore Pak while it’s still hot and then let it cool down.
10. Cut it into smaller pieces and enjoy!
