If you follow world news, you know that the world is veritably on fire. There is so much bad news, war, natural catastrophe and climate adversities around, that it is almost numbing. Thankfully, here is some much-needed good news that will possibly give you some hope. You must have come across the case of a Pakistani woman who crossed the border to marry her fiancé who is from Kolkata. Well, she is all set to relish Kolkata’s culinary delights soon!

Pakistani Woman To Relish The Delicacies Of Kolkata

According to an article recently published by The Free Press Journal or the FPJ, Javeria Khanum came to India on December 5 to marry Sameer Khan, her fiancé from Kolkata. Now, if there’s anything to know about Kolkata it’s that the street food of the Indian city is so diverse that it is hard to pick a favourite.

From dishes like Kosha Mangsho and Aloo Chop to Ghugni and Jhal Muri, the variety of street food here is almost overwhelming! Now that Javeria Khanum is in Kolkata, Sameer Khan is all set to take her on a food trail and honestly, we couldn’t think of a better way to spend time than exploring street food together! As per the article, he was excited to make her try the iconic phuchka of Kolkata!

In addition to this legendary dish, he was also excited to take her to Park Street which is the home to some of the best eateries in Kolkata. He said he was excited to take her to all of his favourite places and he was sure she would love them as she had fallen in love with Kolkata as soon as she stepped foot into the city.

About Her Story And Background

As per the FPJ article, Sameer Khan was studying in Germany and came home in 2018. He fell in love with Javeria Khanum as soon as he saw her photo on his mother’s mobile phone. Javeria has been trying to get an Indian visa for quite a while since she wanted to visit the country. However, it is only on her third try that she succeeded in getting one.

She arrived in India through the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab’s Amritsar. She was welcomed with pomp and festivity which included dhols. Sameer and Javeria are slated to get married next month in January 2024. Sameer said that he was very relieved that Javeria was getting such a warm welcome online as well. He is looking forward to spending time with her.
