Pankaj Tripathi Recommends These Places In Bihar
Hailing from Bihar, Pankaj Tripathi is fond of its mouthwatering cuisine and can chat about it for hours. We learned his simple and tasty way of making the sattu drink, a popular nutritional beverage of his home state. During conversations about Bihar, we took some travel recommendations from him.
Pankaj shared that the best time to visit Bihar is during the winter months and witness the state in its full glory. He began by listing out places like Sasaram, a great city to explore the historical and cultural aspects of Bihar. It is also popular for housing the tomb of Sher Shah Suri.
If you are interested in the physiography of the plains of India, then visit the northern section of Bihar. Places like Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, and Mithilanchal have vibrant cultures. The ‘Stree 2’ actor enlightened us that most of the Makhana (Foxnuts) distributed in India are cultivated in this state. The above-mentioned places are the top four Makhana-producing spots. That is interesting to hear!

He Spoke About The Chhath Festival
After talking about Bihar’s perennial water bodies, Madhubani paintings and more, he focused on the famous Chhath puja. Pankaj said, “Chhath is the only festival where devotees are worshipping the Sun or the solar deity while standing in the water. Biharis are thankful to the Lord for the workings of the earth.”
Further, he said that the vegetables offered are agricultural produce. Carrots, radishes, raw bananas and more. They are offered as this festival is “Prakriti ka puja!” This is such a sweet articulation of Chhath.
