A man took to X (formerly Twitter) to share how he ended up missing his Mumbai-Bengaluru Air India flight because the airline rescheduled the flight twice. In his post, he even shared screenshots of two emails he received from the airline informing him about the flight rescheduling. Air India has responded to the post and here’s what they had to say.
Passenger Misses Mumbai-Bengaluru Air India Flight Due To Rescheduling
Dear @airindia, I had booked a flight for today to Bangalore which was supposed to leave at 9:00 Am.
I get a message at 5:15 Am that the departure time has been revised to 11:45. So I change my departure time.
Now I get a message, half an hour ago that the flight is revised to… pic.twitter.com/ElxbaPyX0t

X (formerly Twitter) user, @thekaipullai, posted about how he ended up missing his Mumbai to Bengaluru Air India flight on July 4 due to flight rescheduling by the airline. As per his post, the passenger’s flight was rescheduled twice and he was unable to reach the airport on time and, thus, ended up missing it.
As per the X (formerly Twitter) post, the man’s Air India flight was scheduled to depart at 9 AM on Thursday. However, he got an email from the airline informing him that the flight’s departure time had been revised to 11:45 AM. Seeing this, he decided to leave a little late for the airport. Unfortunately, that was not the end of Air India’s rescheduling. The airline again revised its departure time and scheduled it for 9:25 AM. Also, he was informed about this time revision around 7-7:30. This last-minute flight time change caused the man to miss his flight.
Dear Sir, Thank you for speaking with us. As we investigate the reasons for the change in departure times, we have provided you with the option of an alternate flight or a full refund. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused & look forward to serving you again.

The post has since gone viral and has attracted a lot of attention online. Air India also responded to the tweet and apologised for the inconvenience caused to the passenger because of the rescheduling. As per their reply, they have also provided the man with the option to book an alternate flight or get a full refund.
Netizens Share Two Cents On This Incident
Of course, the internet had a few things to say about this matter. Many people asked the man to file a complaint about the airline and even gave him suggestions on what he could do. Some even said that the airline probably did this because of an overbooked flight. A lot of unsatisfied Air India passengers also shared their experiences. Here are some comments that you cannot miss out on.
It’s almost like they’re doing their best to make you miss the flight

This is just so frustrating.

As I’ve always said about other matters, in India’s corporate world, responsibilities and accountabilities are just ideas in books. In reality, hardly any company lives up to its mission.
Recently, Air India has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons: losing luggage,…

It looks like a nice game they played to make you miss an overbooked flight without having to offer any compensation.

recently booked @AirIndiaX which had a scheduled departure of 5pm and got message that it’s rescheduled to 7pm. reached airport and was told it is again rescheduled to 8:30pm and finally it started at 9pm. Luckily they didn’t prepone the trip. 🤦♂️ from now on they are last choice

Yeah, their scheduling system is pathetic and at last moment l. I have experienced similar situations.

Stopped flying with Air India. Absolute nightmare for last minute travel.

This happened to with Indigo as well. Once delayed flight can be reset back to its original time. Weird!
Is there any clause in their policy that let them do this casually?

Sometime they do overbooking and when they realise that nobody is going to cancel the tickets, they randomly send delayed message to some passengers knowing that few of them will surely delay their travel to airport. And this is how they escape from overbooking problem. Most…

We need a class action suit against these service providers who take customers for granted. All the passengers would be going through similar chaos. Some may be traveling on emergencies or to attend interviews.

Explain the situation at the AI counter, and request them to put you on the next available Airindia or Vistara flight, I am sure they will accommodate you. Have a safe flight.

Sounds like a new tactic by the airline to generate cancellations to adjust for overselling of the seats to multiple passengers. Looks like Air India is in the news for all the bad reasons lately
