IndiGo Airlines is back in the news and making headlines for infamous reasons. This time, passengers are slamming the airline for its poor service. They felt suffocated and experienced discomfort as the Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo flight’s air conditioning system malfunctioned. Clips of the horrifying incident are making rounds on the Internet with flyers expressing their anger and frustration on the airline’s recent mishap. Here’s what happened.
AC Stopped Working On Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo Flight
Taking to the X platform, Ghar Ke Kalesh (@gharkekalesh) shared a video of flyers onboard the plane shouting and complaining after they found the AC not working efficiently.

The shocking incident was reported on the 6E 2235 flight on its way to Varanasi from Delhi. It was on September 5 when onboard passengers experienced this unexpected mishap and had a terrible unforgettable domestic journey. As the AC malfunctioned, some passengers could not control the heat and suffocation and fainted inside the aircraft, according to multiple reports making rounds on social media platforms.
Facing extreme discomfort after the AC stopped working properly, many passengers took respite to magazines and used them to cool themselves. Understandably, blowing magazines was not enough to beat the tremendous heat. But it was probably the only solution to control the situation at that moment on the Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo flight.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, IndiGo issued an apology on September 7. The airline extended its apologies for the inconvenience. According to a report by NDTV, the airline’s sources stated that the AC was functioning efficiently but the cabin heated up suddenly due to a temperature shift. As the temperature increased, people began to get anxious.

IndiGo released a press statement following the incident of passengers complaining about malfunctioning AC. Responding to the complaints and this major mishap on the flight, the airline attributed cabin temperature fluctuations as the reason for the discomfort. According to the statement, the temperature was adjusted as per the requests of the flyers. Also, the statement mentioned that the cabin crew members assisted the affected passenger swiftly.
