PM Narendra Modi is visiting Chennai today and the Greater Chennai Police has issued traffic advisories and restrictions to avoid traffic congestion in the city. PM’s visit to Chennai is part of his Lok Sabha election campaign. The police have issued vehicular restrictions as well as traffic advisories for certain areas in the city. Chennai Police Issues Traffic Advisories During Modi’s Visit
With the Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, PM Modi is visiting different parts of India every other day. Today, he is scheduled to have a roadshow in Chennai. So, to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid congestion, the Greater Chennai Police has issued traffic advisories and restrictions around the city.

As per the advisory, there are chances of traffic congestion in areas like Mount Poonamallee Road, Gandhi Mandapam Road, CIPET Junction, GST Road, Anna Salai, SV Patel Road, 100 Feet Road, and T Nagar. The traffic slowdown in these areas is expected from 3 PM to 8 PM in these areas, so make sure to plan your travel accordingly.
The Chennai Police has also restricted several routes in the city from 2 PM to 9 PM. These include Mount Poonamallee Road towards Anna Salai, Kathipara Flyover to Saidapet, Tidel Park to Gandhi Mandapam, CPT towards the airport and Gandhi Mandapam, Anna Statute towards Mount Road, CIPET towards Anna Salai, Vadapalani towards T Nagar, and Pallavaram GST Road towards Kathipara.

PM Modi’s Chennai Schedule & Parking Restrictions
As per the information shared by the Chennai Police, PM Narendra Modi’s roadshow will be held at Thyagaraya Road in Chennai’s T Nagar locality. The roadshow will begin at 6 PM and is likely to go till 7:30 PM. During this time, the entire area will be a ‘sterile zone’. There will be no parking allowed on Thyagaraya Road, Venkata Narayana Road, North Boag Road, and GN Chetty Road until the roadshow is finished.
The Chennai Police has requested people to plan their travel keeping these traffic restrictions in mind. So, make sure to check for any updates and news before stepping out today.
